Great Backup for Road Warriors

Until recently, I'd relied on backing up the machines I use for healthcare consulting and then locking up the backups. Obviously the locked up copies proved unavailable when needed most: on the road. Locking up backups is a pain for a small business; and absolutely a must do if you ever store HIPAA protected PHI (patient health information) even temporarily.

I was looking for a online solution to solve the secure storage of archived information dilemma and at the same time make the backups more accessible in the event I needed a restore.

In evaluating the options, it came down to MozyPro's Remote Backup for me. If you've investigated remote backup options; you've probably noticed the prominent offerings all have similar features. I selected MozyPro for 2 reasons: they are serious about HIPAA; and as an EMC company I know they'll be around for awhile.

So in the end while all the product offerings were probably very similiar in their implementation; 2 details won out: they communicated protection where I needed it most & they'll be there when I need them most. And as my company Comstock Software grows, MozyPro scales with me by providing me with a Web-Based Admin Console to add & administer employee accounts with ease.
